Engaged in Equality ready for the final event

Countdown to the celebration of the final act of Engaged in Equality. This Friday, January 12, the Paral·lel 62 – Club P62 (Barcelona) space will host the event that will culminate the European project developed for two years by participants from Salvador Dalí Institute in El Prat de Llobregat, Caterina Albert Institute in Barcelona and Baix Montseny institute in Sant Celoni.

The project has made it possible to work on new masculinities and the prevention of sexist violence among adolescents, directly with adolescents and with teachers from the three Catalan centers. Throughout the process, training and workshops have been carried out for teachers and adolescents, offering tools for detecting toxic relationships, racist, homophobic or discriminatory attitudes in general.

The project has ended with the making of several videos made by the adolescents themselves, “to raise awareness among other adolescents of the need to establish healthy relationships, free of violence and discrimination,” according to Anna Albareda, director of programs and strategic alliances at Sale. Research, awareness and training are the haystacks of Sal’s empowerment strategy. “The research and experimentation process of the participating students shows the empowerment of adolescence towards sexist violence,” highlights Sira Vilardell, general director of the Surt Foundation.

The event will feature a special performance by singer Jim Gómez, winner of the latest edition of the 3cat Eufòria 2023 contest. To attend the closing event, you must register for free at this link: https://forms.gle/ p2znD4gyv4pubbCD7. The event will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. (doors open from 4:30 p.m.).

The European project Engaged in Equality has been co-financed thanks to funds from the European Commission, CERV-2021-DAPHNE, and together with the support of the General Directorate of Students of the Department of Education of the Generalitat of Catalonia.
