Opening doors: March-June 2024 edition
This spring Surt activates the second edition of the Opening Doors from April 30 to June 19, 2024. It is a training itinerary for the comprehensive empowerment of women in socioeconomic situations of vulnerability.
The itinerary lasts 64 hours and includes 4 blocks of work:
- Personal empowerment: group sessions where each woman’s Life Plan will be defined using the Life Balance methodology and transversal skills will be worked on. At the same time, individual sessions will be held to monitor the evolution of the plan and improve the situations of the participants.
- Economic empowerment: deepening in the labor sphere, labor orientation.
- Support and emotional well-being: as a mutual support space, sessions will be held aimed at providing tools and strategies for emotional management and improvement.
- Activities for community bonding and participation
The second edition of the itinerary will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from April 30 to June 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the headquarters of the Surt Foundation (c/Guàrdia 14, baixos, 08001 Barcelona-metro Drassanes).
The program is aimed at older women in a situation of vulnerability and/or social exclusion, in a regular administrative situation; with a medium-high level of understanding and expression in Spanish and/or Catalan; motivations interested in participating in a space of these characteristics; and with complete availability and commitment to attend all sessions (particular cases that have difficulty attending some day or for some hours will be assessed).
The program is not aimed at women who are in a situation of sexist violence or who have been very recently (the Surt Foundation has specific programs for these cases).
Women will have individual support throughout the process and will be able to count on the support of the program’s job prospector. Likewise, participants will have access to other support services, such as individualized legal advice, assistance in carrying out online procedures, access to various free training capsules and the possibility of referral to other Surt programs according to their personal needs to identify.
