RESEARCH FOR THE RELOCATION IN THE LABOUR MARKET OF SEX WORKERS IN THE AREA OF “EL
RAVAL” (2006 - 2007).

Luis Vives Foundation (within the global fund of the Operational Programme of Fight Against Discrimination of the European Social Fund) and Catalan Women’s
Institute.
Aims:
- To identify troubles or difficulties faced by sex workers at the area of “El Raval” (Barcelona), in the process of relocation into the labour market. This will be achieved through a fieldwork with 45 women interviewed.
- To propose strategies and interventional models in that area.
Actions:
- Creation of a network with the partner associations.
- Cooperation of network entities in surveys and other tools of research.
- Elaboration of a report of needs.
- Work Sessions and Closing Seminar.
- Publication of a Handbook with the research outcomes and proposals.
Results:
- Consolidation of the work of network.
- Participation of the professionals belonging to the partner associations in working sessions, in order to collect information for the fieldwork.
- Identification of critical factors, proposal of actions, intervention and training, in order to allow their incorporation into the labour market.
- Elaboration of a report of needs and demands, proposals of actions, intervention and training, in order to allow their incorporation into the labour market.
- Organization of a final seminary, with the participation of professionals of the network.
- Elaboration of a Handbook, with the research outcomes and proposals of
intervention.
